2024: I have read new comments on this case. If you have information, please email me: tracelara@pm.me
It will be kept confidential.
Back in 2011, I posted a story on this blog about the book SUDDEN FURY and the grizzly murder of Maryland adoptive parents Kay and Larry Swartz who had adopted three children, Larry, Michael and Annie. (This old post is still getting comments and questions.)
In the book (right) it stated that Michael Swartz was a Native American adoptee who was removed from his family at age 4 and adopted by the Swartz couple in Maryland.
Three days after their parents' funeral, adopted son Larry Swartz confessed that he was the killer.
What Happened to Michael Swartz?
Michael continued to get into trouble and at age 25, he was
given a life sentence without the possibility of parole, for
participating in robbing and murdering a man. Today Michael would be 48 years old.
Here is a profile of the case from 2004:
Profile of Larry Swartz
I have contacted Leslie Walker, the author of Sudden Fury, to ask her if she followed up on this case and if she might be able to help me locate Michael.
If you know where he is, what prison, please email me: tracelara@pm.me

DeleteIs it possible to contact Michael .
DeleteI believe that unfortunately the parents expectations of the children were too harsh and inflexible. I don’t think they were being unkind , but these children had went through so much in life , they couldn’t suffer another rejection . It’s very sad . But you could see this coming . I’ve never contacted anyone who is in prison, but if possible I would like to contact Michael

To the person that stated "I don't think they were being unkind" lol! They beat the h#ll out of those boys, esp. the dad. It's all in the transcripts.
DeleteGeez terrible! They were not protected in the system 😥😥
DeleteI had Michael Swartz's daughter,Ann Marie,She was born Amber Marie,But her adoptive family changed it to Ann Marie,She looks just like him,She is mad at me for giving her up
ReplyDeleteAnn Marie, please let us know what has happened to Michael. You can email me: tracelara@pm.me

Could you email me: tracelara@pm.me - we can chat on the phone if you prefer. It will be confidential. This case is still unresolved.
DeleteAmber Marie was born April 2nd 1987,She is Michael Swart's daughter,I am her mother,I had to give her up for adoption to a family in Maryland,She is now Ann Marie
ReplyDeleteMy story started much like that of Larry, Daniel, and Anne. I was a horribly abused child. I was luckier then those poor children. My adopted family was much like most families far from perfected but it was stable and full of love and support. Anne has had a hard life from things I have read, Michael is serving life and Larry is gone. While i dont condone their actions I most certainly understand them. I just recently found my 3 biological brothers and father. My oldest brother has spent 28 years of his life in prison, my younger brothers have spent time.as well. They have had hard lives. For whatever reason i was the only one put up for adoption. I was told I was obstinate at 6 years old, lol. And that was the reason. I found my father and we talk a few times a month, he asks me a lot if I am angry with him I can honestly say I have let go of the anger.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that, anonymous and am glad you are in reunion! Many have had a hard life.
